Praise Header

We can hardly live a perfect life, but we can live a surpassing one with the heavenly faith received through God’s grace. Through faith we will be able to turn our eyes from difficult circumstances and focus on who He is and what He has done. Once we turn our eyes back to God, our praise to Him will flow out of us naturally. However, it is usually not our habit to do so. We ought to exercise our will consciously and intentionally to praise Him. May the Spirit help us to proclaim His name and wonderful deeds, and “ascribe to Him the glory due His name”.

Month of Praising - Day 5

Psalm341-10
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel[a] of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.

10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
David wrote this psalm of praise and testimony when his life was threatened and he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away.

"I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth". David grew to be a man of praise, for the faithful Lord always delivered him from fears and sufferings as he sought God and looked upon His name. As children of God who receive all grace from Him, we should all live out a testimony like David - we have a God who sympathizes with our weaknesses, listens to every candid prayer we bring to Him just as we are, and performs miracles to save us. A man who praises the Lord all the time will always praise more and more. Praises to the Lord will flow out of us when we live a life in Christ.

What makes David's praise even more precious is that he invited people around him to exalt the Lord with him together. Our Lord rejoices in the praises from a group, and cares about the oneness testimony of Christ. What a joy to praise the Lord in the congregation! Let us grab every opportunity to praise the Lord together at our meetings!
